ABOUT US
Where Indigenous Culture Meets the Outfitting Experience
Who We Are
For millennia, the Takla Nation have hunted on these lands. Our knowledge of the mountains, the rivers, and the animals is rooted deeply in our culture. The values of the Takla Nation drive our mission to host a sustainable and ethical outfit that is respectful of our traditional lands and cultural heritage. Takla Outfitters is built from this history. We offer specialized hunting trips that blend the depth and adventure of the northern hunt with the traditional hunting practices that have been embedded in our culture for generations.
At Takla Outfitters you have an opportunity to gift our nation with the meat from your harvest. We use wild game at our community events and gatherings, this is how we ensure we do not waste anything from a client’s harvest.
Ceremony
Guests will be welcomed through a traditional ceremony with balsam bows that cleanse our mind, body and spirit, and prepare us for the work ahead.
History
Hides, artwork and artifacts that symbolize the history of the Takla people and our culture will be embedded throughout the camp.
Tradition
Guides share stories about the lands and people, and lead the traditional harvesting of the animals with tobacco and prayer.

OUR LAND
Bound on the west by the Skeena Mountains, and on the east by the Rocky Mountains, the traditional territory of the Takla First Nation spans over 27,000 breathtaking kilometers of north-central British Columbia, Canada.
The remote land stretches across towering mountain ranges, sprawling lakes and rivers, and deep, ancient forests, abundant with wildlife.
The lands once occupied by our ancestors, hold thousands of years of knowledge. Each physical feature has a Carrier and Sekani place name that signifies meaning and bridges us to history and tradition.
